Production Process

We buy seeds for sowing, cocopit and starter and trays and nutrients. We work with women on putting seeds in trays and men who work on cocopit then we put the seeds in germination trays. Then watering regularly, spraying regularly to avoid insects pests invasion. While the seeds are growing, we do land preparation ready for planting in 24 weeks.

Planting

We have beds already prepared where we put on drips and put manure then do planting.

Harvesting

We do harvesting thrice in a week using crates and we harvest the hot red ones for processing. We educate our people to harvest the ripe ones then we sort the tomatoes out the best for transportation in crates.

Transportation

We transport our products to Majimboni for processing.

Processing

After reaching processing site then product is sorted again and wash them then thereafter to slicing into halves and later dried up in the sun on beds.Salting is mainly done on the drying beds. Its normally done twice and left to dry for 5 days. After drying , then they are sorted again before packing whereby we come up with a grade 1, 2 & 3 and they are in a nylon inside box then closed and sorted in cool dry place of 4 degrees Celsius in a rifter. Then thereafter it will be taken for exportation.
